NAWBO Memphis Political Support Policy
Dear Friend,
NAWBO Memphis Chapter is placing this letter to state our stance on supporting Political Candidates. As a local arm of a national organization, we do not formally endorse, support or back any political candidate for any political office. We do however encourage any political candidate who is interested in Women Business Owners, to feel free to attend any of our functions as a guest and participate as a guest. We will welcome any candidate with warm and generous hospitality.
Women business owners join NAWBO to effect change on these and other issues impacting entrepreneurs, such as:
Access to affordable health care insurance
Increased federal procurement opportunities for women entrepreneurs
Fair and equitable tax treatment for small business
Retirement Benefits
Access to Capital Business Technology
Education & the Workforce.
NAWBO also has an affiliated political action committee, the National Association of Women Business Owners PAC (NAWBO PAC), which endorses and provides financial support to candidates for Congress and the House that support NAWBO’s public policy platform. For additional information on the NAWBO PAC, click here.
In honoring our NAWBO Vision, we do propel women entrepreneurs into economic, social, and political spheres of power worldwide.
And in honoring our Mission Statement, NAWBO is an organization which works to: strengthen the wealth creating capacity of our members and promote economic development; create innovative effective changes in the business culture; build strategic alliances, coalitions, and affiliations; transform public policy and influence opinion.
Thank you,
Sharon Watkins
